After completing this audio tour, you’ll be amazed at how many fascinating stories and personalities intersect at San Francisco’s Haight-Ashbury. Even better, you’ll be tempted to flash a peace sign and put a flower in your hair.
We’ll begin our walk at the Golden Gate Park and end across the street from the Hippie Temptation House that was featured in a 1967 TV documentary of the same name.
On the roughly one mile walking tour, we’ll visit the following sites:
The Haight-Ashbury is an exciting, urban neighborhood with many cafes, restaurants, and bars. You can pause the tour at any time to stop for refreshments. You'll also find markets specializing in organic and sustainably grown foods and breweries offering locally produced ales. The books, music, vintage clothing and Tibetan handcrafts in the Haight’s shops are unlike what you will anywhere.
